Welcome to four new member schools!
Our goal is to incorporate the concept of CDIO into our engineering education so that students
can acquire the following abilities. These are defined as the learning and educational goals of
our College.
(A) The ability to master basic knowledge in professional engineering based on the principles of
engineering.
(B) The ability to solve any problem tasks comprehensively by utilizing knowledge and skills in
the professional engineering, humanities and social sciences.
(C) The ability to improve the communication skills and the attitude to actively respond on
social issues in collaboration with others from an international perspective.

We believe that, by introducing the philosophy of CDIO Initiative, teachers can obtain
solutions to challenges that they are facing in their individual education improvement
activities. It is also expected that expanding this concept will complete, based on CDIO, the
education system of all the six departments of our college, and at the same time, to improve
the educational ability to enable its effective implementation. This is directly linked to the
realization of the school's educational philosophy, which consequently leads to the
improvement of the level of our students as future engineers.
- To train leader technicians from the region to the world in accordance with the policy of CDIO.
- Do association and definition of our current efforts and C-D-I-O and clarify the target student image.
- Students and faculty members can understand the meaning of the definition of C-D-I-O and turn that cycle tightly.
- Establish an organization assessment within the school and a system to confirm that all students can do CDIO firmly.
- Based on CDIO, we aim to train students who can be active in any part of the world.
- In order to improve our CDIO efforts better, we will actively participate and report in CDIO meetings, turn PDCA to make efforts always to improve.
(Years 2020-2022) To provide impetus for program development: development of new program planning templates that ensure instructional alignment and CDIO syllabus integration; pilot of new program evaluation processes; review of student evaluation policies to promote adoption of authentic assessments (e.g. CDIO experiences, project-, case-, problem-, inquiry-based learning, etc.); pilot of new CDIO experiences
• (Years 2020-2022) To enhance faculty development programming: Pilot of new faculty training in a) program and course design, b) assessment design, c) active teaching, d) design for learning by doing, e) online learning, f) flipping instruction, g) integrating ePortfolio, etc.
• (Years 2020-2022) To improve technology adoption: Improve integration online technologies (LMS, eLectures, ePortfolio) to improve quality and quantity of curricular contact time outside of classroom, support flipped instruction, and make time for CDIO experiences and skills development
• (Years 2020-2030) To increase interinstitutional partnerships: New interinstitutional design competitions, new opportunities for collaborative research, new industry partners
• (Years 2020-2030) To incrementally improve infrastructure and workspaces: Improved workspace planning documents and communication to support CDIO experiences and active learning; prioritized wish lists for new or redesigned infrastructure and new tools and technologies; funding commitments from industry partners to improve workspaces
• (Years 2025-2030) To share expertise with other Vietnamese schools: Provide support in implementing CDIO to other Vietnamese institutions through TVU’s partnerships or networks
