Biography

My main teaching and research fields are linked with fluid and structure interaction, flow dynamics in pressurized systems, channels and water systems, energy efficiency of water networks and pumping, optimization and risk assessment and reduction including development of smart solutions for urban water systems.

I see teaching as a goal oriented process where the student acquires the requested learning outcomes through the appropriate teaching methods applied by the lecturer. In teaching I use direct learning models combined with indirect models to increase the effectiveness of the teaching process. I try to keep the balance between theoretical knowledge (basis for any specialization), generalized examples (applying theoretical knowledge in abstract form) and practical problems (applying the gained knowledge to solve real-life problems) i.e. in teaching I apply the knowledge->skills->proficiency scheme.
