Peter Gibbens is an Associate Professor in Aerospace Engineering within the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at The University of Sydney. He has previously worked with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), Australia as a Research Scientist until 1996.
Peters teaching and research interests include flight stability and handling qualities; aerodynamic parameter estimation and flight testing; flight control systems and control design techniques; navigation systems, data fusion and fault detection; visual navigation and Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping. He also has a strong interest in teaching and learning improvement in engineering education, primarily through experiential learning via simulation.
