Biography
Dr. Valdeir Arantes is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Biochemical Engineering Program at the University of São Paulo. Before, he spent six years as a research associate with the Forest Biotechnology Products at the University of British Columbia. He has a B.Eng in Industrial Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of São Paulo. His research focuses on biomass conversion technology and has included projects involving the development of enzyme technology and renewable nanomateriais, with emphasis on nanocelluloses and lignin nanoparticles. Since 2016, Dr. Arantes he has been a Productivity Research Fellow from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
