CDIO Seminar: The PRAMECO Project - Learning-centred Development of Safe and Cost-efficient Virtual Laboratories

This seminar presents results from the PRAMECO project, an Erasmus+ funded project carried out in collaboration between HAW Hamburg, Turku UAS, Chalmers, and Taltech.

The project focuses on laboratory exercises, which are an essential part of engineering training, but physical labs can be very expensive and in the covid-18 heyday even dangerous to operate. Virtual online or hybrid lab exercises can then offer cost-efficient, safe solutions that can be easily shared amongst universities. The challenge is then to maintain the same learning effect, or ideally, to gain benefits from a learning perspective.

In the seminar, a range of virtual laboratories will be presented, exploring their use in cutting, welding, mechatronics, robotics, and pneumatics.

In addition, study visits to different innovative learning spaces at Chalmers will be arranged, including the Tracks Lab, The Prototyping Land, and the Stena Industry Innovation Lab.

The lectures can also be followed via Zoom
