Udo Onnen-Weber
Architect, Dipl.-Ing.
Professor for Architectural Design at Hochschule Wismar / Germany
Head Center of Excellence for Mobility and Logistics

Born and grown up in Eastern Frisia, Germany, in 1948, he studied pedagogics in Hannover and Kiel, then architecture in Hannover. From 1975 to 1985 he was self employed as an architect in Northern Germany. He was in charge of many building design projects, heritage protection design projects and city and rural space design and development projects. From 1986 – 1992 he was employed at University Hannover to develop the further education at the Faculty of Architecture. 1990, after the german reunion, he was send by University of Hannover to former GDR states to develop the alignment training for GDR-architects. In 1992 he followed the call on the professorship at Hochschule Wismar, University of Technology, Business and Design. His teaching focusses on Architectural Design and Architectural computing.

His research interests changed from educational questions (Project Campus Holzstadt, Virtual University, Project IMLAB.DE, Simple Teaching) to space development (Mobility in rural spaces, public transportation, touristic development). In 2009 he founded the interdisciplinary competence center for mobility and logistics at the Hochschule Wismar which comes along with many research and development projects.

Since 2005 he is the representative of Hochschule Wismar at CDIO.
