Abstract
This paper discusses some aspects of bringing CDIO to the Japanese education system from the perspective of the first institution in Japan to adopt the CDIO 12 Standards and Syllabus. Institution-specific stakeholder surveys as well as national surveys and cultural hurdles are discussed. The case for adopting CDIO at additional Japanese institutions is made.
